Makkah, Saudi Arabia – The first ever Makkah Halal Forum concluded on January 25th after a successful three-day run at the Makkah Chamber of Exhibitions and Events Center. Over 120 countries were represented at the forum along with delegations from various Islamic and international commerce chambers.
Cited from ANTARA, Jakarta, Saudi Minister of Commerce Majid Al-Qasabi attended the opening ceremony, praising the event for bringing together experts across the public and private sectors to discuss innovation and growth opportunities within the rapidly developing global halal industry.
Saff, as one of Indonesian halal tour companies participated alongside Indonesia’s Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy to introduce their halal-certified tour packages catering to Muslim families.
Over the course of the forum, participants engaged in over 10 panel discussions and 250 meetings focused on current halal consumer behaviors and effective strategies to target new demographics and unmet needs. Artificial intelligence and big data also took center stage, with attendees exploring how to leverage technology to gain sharper insight into buyer preferences.
Additionally, six bilateral and multilateral agreements were signed, including several partnerships between the halal products development company and other entities to further expand the reach of halal certifications and manufactured goods.
The chairman of the Makkah Chamber of Commerce, Abdullah Saleh Kamel, spoke on the forum’s role in unifying Islamic countries and enabling communication channels between stakeholders across the supply chain. The forum provided a platform to coordinate efforts between the Islamic Halal Chamber headquartered in Makkah and industry players from all facets.
The successful event underscored Saudi Arabia’s commitments to solidifying its position as a fulcrum for the global halal economy. With the trillion-dollar industry expected to continue its robust growth, the Kingdom aims to be at the forefront providing guidance and infrastructure for ethical and Shariah-compliant development.
